Dave & Tony's "Way of the Roses"  Challenge '12
(Coast to Coast, Morecambe to Bridlington, 170 miles)

From Sea to Sea....West coast at Morecambe to Bridlington on the East coast.... on the new Sustrans "Way of the Roses" long distance cycle route challenge total of 170 miles.

This page is for Dave & Tony's future "Way of the Roses" challenge 2012, call back soon for updates.

In late August  2003 I decided to start training to do the original 135 mile c2c route now that I had a decent bike to do it on, I intend originally to do the c2c trip in 2004 Whitehaven and finish at Roker,, and hopefully to do it in 2 or 3 days Unfortunately I took ill with a bad stomach (I.B.S.) which made it impossible for some years to even think of doing the challenge. In 2009 me the guys at work decided to give the c2c challenge a go in 2010 as a charity ride, unfortunately which never materialised.

September 2010 saw the opening of a brand new coast to coast challenge, "The Way of the Roses" Starting from Morecambe and finishing in Bridlington, Shortly after the opening my Dad (Tony) saw a couple who looked around his age just finishing the Way of the Roses challenge. He went and had a chat with this couple, they had set out to do it in 5 days but completed it in 4 days, This must have really inspired him, as he asked me if I would ride the Way of the Roses with him in 2012, possibly in September although no exact date is fixed at time of writing this.

 That's all for now Folks!!!
